Each day, millions of posts are written on blogs and across all social media sites. Blogging and social media have quickly become the most popular methods for companies to communicate with their followers and target audience, as online marketing helps to be relatable and build rapport. It also keeps websites visible on search engines. Blogs should always remain stocked with fresh content, at a minimum of one post per week.
Website statistics will organically improve upon the initial integration of your blog and social accounts combined with a meticulously scheduled stream of content. The more often you can post beyond the minimum will boost your rankings even further. The traffic to a site and amount of leads converted can both increase when you post more blogs per month. Statistics show that B2B companies can double their amount of leads by posting twice per week. Posting 15 times or more per month can increase traffic by at least 200%, and even more for B2C companies.
Consistency with new material is a successful strategy to boost visibility not only on social media but also on search engines, making your site more SEO-friendly. Although it is encouraged to post as much as possible, some companies prefer the “quality-over-quantity” approach. Posts should be memorable and impactful so that readers feel inspired and personally connected to the brand and topic discussed.
It is essential when blogging to combine these two methods, producing an abundance of posts that are still engaging and stimulating to the reader. If your blogs are published at a rapid pace, the articles should be brief and to the point. Keeping to a regular weekly schedule can allow more time for brainstorming and research, which can result in richer content on a less frequent basis. Start writing and be sure to document improvement using statistic-tracking programs such as Google Analytics.
These same methods and philosophies should be applied to all social media channels as well. Depending on which platform you are writing for, the content and frequency will differ. For example, when dealing with a more fast-paced environment like Twitter, where short tidbits are being scrolled past and buried in a stream of hundreds of tweets in just minutes, you will need to post multiple times per day to be noticed. On a calmer network like Facebook, it is better to produce fewer, yet longer and meatier posts that will stick around on your followers’ feeds for a full day or so. Statistics show that a minimum of five tweets per day on Twitter and three posts per week on Facebook is acceptable. While the limit does not exist for the maximum amount of tweets that a company should post, it is not recommended to exceed ten posts per week on Facebook.
Less utilized but still relevant sites like LinkedIn and Pinterest have slightly different rules where posting is concerned. On LinkedIn, content should be written with a more serious and professional tone and should directly correlate to your specific industry or affiliated company. This is where the quality of your content matters most because this is what attracts potential business partners, employees, employers and professional colleagues. With a minimum of twice a week and a maximum of five times per week, LinkedIn is the most important but lowest-maintenance social network.
Pinterest, much like Twitter, is quick and always moving, so you always have to be posting interesting and creative content. Keywords and tags are just as relevant here as Twitter’s hashtags to make your posts as visible as possible. Companies are encouraged to share at least 5-10 times per day.
